Melicytus chathamicus

Small tree naturally found on the Chatham Islands. Large, green, oval leaves. Dense, narrow form when young, can be maintained by clipping,  otherwise forms a small spreading tree.  Yellow flowers are small and appear in spring.  Small fruit is white, flecked with purple, or entirely dark purple, and can appear from September through to April. Evergreen. Will tolerate cold, wind and coastal conditions, but only light to moderate frosts.
