This unusual dense, flattened, sprawling and very hardy shrub, really does resemble a porcupine. Its short, stiff, interlaced leafless branchlets even have spiky tips. Suits rocky soils in full sun, but will grow on any well-drained soil. Evergreen. Hardy.
