Common New Zealand tree fern in lowland forests, distinguished by silver-white undersides of mature fronds. More drought-tolerant than other tree ferns, but still requires moist soils. Does not tolerate heavy frosts or strong winds, so is best suited to a warm, sheltered site. Low maintenance.
