Pears

Pyrus communis – European pears are an excellent choice for the home garden and orchard. As most pears require cross-pollination, planting more than one variety is recommended, or plant a double- worked tree. Pears handle cold and damp soils once they are established. Most pears are best ripened in storage rather than on the tree.
